The Texas Parents Closed Facebook Group was started in November 2012 as a benefit to Texas Parents members because the staff recognized the power of parents talking to parents during the Family Orientation sessions. Various social media set-ups were researched that would allow for control of the group’s population so that only Texas Parents supporting members were in the group and outside voices didn’t water down the concept with spam or unwanted posts.
This closed group was created so that member to member, parent to parent, you have fellow Longhorn families to ask for help as your student navigates his or her journey at UT. In the past few years, it has become extremely popular with supporting members as a place to discuss, connect and celebrate!

To join the group, it is a two-step process. First, you must acknowledge the Facebook group guidelines here. Second, you will receive a follow up email with a link to the Facebook group where you must request to join the group. Please allow five business days to process your request.
